Wouter Quartier is Head of Radio at the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), where he works with public service broadcasters across Europe and beyond to strengthen radio’s position and shape the future of audio. Before taking on this role in 2026, he was EBU’s Head of Digital, Transformation and Platforms. Previously, he held several leadership positions at Belgian public broadcaster VRT, including Director of Strategy and Head of Kids & Youth. With a background in sociology, audience research and digital transformation, Wouter has spent his career exploring how media organisations can adapt to changing audiences and technologies. He believes that radio has a strong future, provided the industry continues to innovate, collaborate and rethink how it connects with audiences.
