Dr David Fernández Quijada is the Co-Founder and Research Director of South 180, an international consulting company based in Geneva. He leads the foresight practice at South 180 and has also developed projects related to corporate strategy and impact measurement for public broadcasters, media regulators, commercial entities, and trade bodies across Europe. These include reports, workshops, training and coaching sessions, and speaking engagements. You can regularly read David’s take on strategy and radio in RedTech, the international radio and audio magazine. From 2018 to 2021, he was the Head of Media Intelligence at the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in Geneva, having spent the previous five years as a Senior Media Analyst in the same team; in charge, among other, of all the radio-related research. Prior to this, he lectured at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Spain, focusing on public service media, communication policies and technology adoption. He was also an invited researcher at the CSP ICT innovation centre in Turin, Italy, and at Leeds University in the UK. His academic track-record includes more than 50 peer-reviewed articles in some of the leading journals of the field. David holds a PhD in Audiovisual Communication and a Master's in Communication Research from the Autonomous University
