Jan Poelmann is one of the industry leaders who not only talks about the future of audio advertising but actively builds it. Since March 2024, he has been Director Demand Side at aireal, where he leads the platform’s demand-side strategy and drives its programmatic transformation. In this role, he develops highly efficient, automated buying solutions for agencies and advertisers in the audio market, with a strong focus on technological scalability and the optimization and alignment of booking processes. His goal is to make programmatic audio not just a promise, but an operational reality. Prior to joining aireal, Poelmann spent four years as Managing Director shaping the development of audioXchange, Germany’s central IO booking platform for audio inventory. Working at the intersection of AdTech and sales, he played a key role in standardizing processes between ARD Media and RMS—the two largest radio sales houses in Germany—and the broader advertising market, laying important groundwork for a modern audio infrastructure. Earlier in his career, as Head of Business Development and Programmatic at Teads, he focused on expanding programmatic business models and advancing innovative advertising technologies.
