Marieke Woortman (1976) is a Dutch publisher who has been making a strong profile in the world of children's books for more than 25 years. At Kosmos publishers, she is the founder of the imprint Kosmos Kind & Jeugd, which under her leadership has quickly grown into the market leader in the Netherlands. She aims to publish books that children choose themselves, that match their perception of the world and that promote reading pleasure. As the first children's book publisher in the Netherlands, Marieke Woortman made successful YouYoubers the heroes in their own children's book series. This turned out to be a golden formula that was widely imitated and that has permanently changed the children's book industry in the Netherlands.
