Rachel Quester is a Supervising Producer for The Daily, the audio news show from The New York Times. In her role, Rachel leads coverage of Washington and national politics, identifying editorial priorities and generating coverage plans for both breaking news and long-form enterprise. She also edits episodes from conception to completion Rachel led The Daily’s coverage of the 2024 election, including on-the-ground field reporting and editing from the RNC and DNC. She’s helped shape and drive the show’s coverage of the second Trump administration. Rachel is one of the founding members of The Daily, joining the show 8 years ago just after it launched. Before coming to the Times, she was a podcast producer at NPR and the Scripps Washington Bureau.
