Vibe Klarup is the Secretary General of Amnesty International, where she contributes as a leader and public commentator on issues related to democracy and civil liberties. She has for many years served as director of various civil society organizations. For a number of years, she was the chair of the board for Denmark’s major democracy festival and has acted as an advisor to successive Danish governments on matters concerning the inclusion of socially marginalized citizens in society and the role of civil society in a strong democracy. She has also served as a member of the Government’s Freedom of Expression Commission.
