Stewart Copeland, musician, composer and legendary drummer of The Police, will be appearing at Radiodays Europe 2019 for an exclusive interview.
The Police have sold over 100 Million records worldwide and were one of the biggest bands of the 1980’s. They’ve been inducted into the ‘Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’, they’re on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the ‘100 Greatest Artists of All Time’, and their songs are some of the most played tracks on radio stations around the world to this day. The band reunited in 2007 and performed 151 dates across five continents, concluding with a final show in August 2008 at Madison Square Garden, New York. However, his distinctive drum sound and uniqueness of style has made him one of the most popular drummers to ever get behind a drum kit.
Stewart Copeland has composed multiple film soundtracks, such as ‘Wall Street’ and ‘Talk Radio’ and written music for video games (most recently the third version of Spyro), ballet, opera and orchestra. Recently he has toured Germany and the UK with a sold out orchestral retrospective of his whole career. Also this year, he has fronted two television series for the BBC – the first “On Drums – Stewart Copeland” broadcast in January, while the second “What Is Music”, Stewart’s personal take on the science behind what music does to us, will air this fall.
At Radiodays Europe 2019 in this unmissable session, he’ll talk to Ben Jones from Virgin Radio (UK) about his amazing career in music and share some of his experiences of being in the one of the world’s biggest rock bands.
