RDE2023 welcomes Head of Australian Broadcasting Corporation Innovation Lab, Angela Stengel

Angela Stengel leads the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s Innovation Lab, a team established to predict and understand the changing behaviours that will impact audiences and content. The Innovation Lab pilots new ideas in collaboration with content and technology teams, and has recently focussed on TikTok, influencer talent, the connected car and AI tools for content.

Angela has worked with radio teams for many years, creating the ABC’s first podcast commissioning team and launching the ABC listen app, both informed by human-centred design. Angela is passionate about bringing together technical and editorial teams and discovering ways for new technology to make for a better audience experience.

Before joining the ABC, Angela worked in digital content roles in the arts and education industries.
