Filip Nerad is head of the foreign news desk and European affairs analyst at Czech Radio. As a former historian, Filip started his journalistic career at the Czech News Agency, where he spent 10 years, including four as a foreign correspondent in Germany, and served on both the foreign and domestic news desks, covering high-profile events such as NATO summits, the Czech EU presidency in 2009 and the Euromaidan demonstrations of 2013-2014. In 2015, Filip began working at Czech Radio, first as correspondent in Brussels and Benelux and later as a European affairs analyst and the head of the foreign news desk. In this role, he is currently managing and coordinating coverage of the war in Ukraine, among many other topics. He is also the editor and co-host of Bruselské chlebíčky (Brussels Bites), a weekly podcast on EU topics. Last but by no means least, he is a renowned Czech beer journalist and author of the book Pivní království Belgie (The Beer Kingdom of Belgium), which was also translated into English.
