Nicky Birch runs an innovation team at BBC Sounds, the app that powers all listening to live and on demand audio for the BBC. Her team conduct experiments in how to attract young audiences to Sounds. Nicky has a background in interactive audio projects for smart speakers and before that she was a radio producer making music programmes and documentaries. In her spare time, she edits a weekly books podcast called Backlisted.
