Laura Döing is heading the Audio Team at Deutsche Welle (DW), Germany’s international broadcaster. As part of DW’s Digital Format Development, she has developed several podcasts for global audiences, for example in India and South Africa. Her Love Matters podcast was an Apple Top Ten podcast for India in 2022. She is particularly interested in podcast strategy, podcast distribution and the transformation of radio programmes into on-demand products.

Huibert Scholtens is a tech-driven innovator with an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for product and business development. As Business Director at BNR Nieuwsradio, he plays a key role in shaping the future of news and audio content in the Netherlands.

With a deep understanding of technology and media, Huibert thrives at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and execution. His expertise in developing cutting-edge products and driving business growth has made him a vital force in the ever-evolving world of digital audio.

Always looking ahead, Huibert is dedicated to exploring new opportunities in media and technology, ensuring BNR Nieuwsradio stays at the forefront of the industry.

With over 25 years in radio, Lee has shaped the sonic branding of top UK stations, including Absolute Radio, Classic FM, Smooth, and Virgin. He cast Matt Berry as Absolute’s voice and created its iconic sonic logo, still in use today.

In 2020, he co-founded Prolark Media, crafting radio imaging for 100+ stations. His passion for broadcast tech led him to explore ethical AI applications for the industry.

Now a Product Specialist at Aiir, Lee is helping build audio.co, an AI-driven content production platform, continuing his mission to innovate in audio.

Barbara Gruber is a Program Director at DW Akademie, the journalism training and media development division of Deutsche Welle, Germany’s International Broadcaster, and leads the Akademie’s PodcasTraining Project Team.

Since the beginning of 2021, the team has partnered with MethodKit in Sweden to develop the new MethodKit for Podcasts and designed various PodcasTraining modules that have been implemented in Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Namibia, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Cambodia, Thailand and Ukraine.
