Winning with audiobooks

With the popularity of fiction podcasts growing year on year and more studios adding scripted drama content to their slate we take a look at their forerunner – audiobooks – and see what we can learn from them.

For the first time in the history of Radiodays Europe we have a whole summit dedicated to audiobooks – they’ve have been around for decades, on vinyl, cassettes and CDs before podcasts had been thought of, but even now it’s a really fast growing market.

In the Audiobook Summit at Radiodays Europe next year we will take a look at how you can diversify your business to include audiobooks to drive content and profitability.

Henriette Hoj Gharib, who programmes the summit said “Audiobooks should be a consideration for all audio companies, with many commercial opportunities as well as accessing audiences that you might not be reaching through other platforms.”

We’ve lined up experts in their field to help guide you through the opportunities and pitfalls for an audiobook company.  There will be discussions on the subscription sales model as well as how AI is impacting IP rights and ethics.  By the end of the summit you will have a clear idea of how your business could expand to include audiobooks and how you can navigate some of areas in which others have failed.

As well as how to create, distribute and market audiobooks, we look at who the big consumers are.  The latest data confirms listening to an audiobook is already very popular with children and we will showcase best practices to help you shape your approach to kids’ content, distribution and user engagement.

Peter Niegel, CEO of Radiodays Europe and Head of the Programme Group said, “We are excited to bring you this summit as there is a lot to learn from audiobooks, whether it’s looking at business models or audiences, platforms or legal issues – it should be on everyone’s radar.”

Alongside creating and monetisation there will also be a session about the different platforms available for all audio, so listeners get the best experience possible.

Look to the future of Audiobooks and audio with us at the Radiodays Europe Audiobooks Summit.
