AI for Dummies

Hermann del Campo starts the session with a clarification: There is no Artificial Intelligence like in movies such as Terminator at the moment. This explains why the presentation is mostly filled with movie scenes. But now, onto the five things you must do:

1: Stop watching the hype; be the hype. Companies should actually start implementing AI into their systems. They should define action points and figure out how AI can help them achieve their goals. “There is a difference between watching the patch and walking the path.” Just walk the path and do not be afraid of failures.

2: Integrate your Team. Most radio stations don’t integrate the whole team but create an “AI Taskforce,” so only a few people learn how to use the AI tools. However, with the whole team onboard, the outcome becomes much better because more ideas can be brought up regarding which tools to use.

3: Understand your Business and the Need for AI. Companies need to understand the workflow of their business to know where AI can help in this workflow. For example, every radio station has its own workflow to create a weather script. It can help to understand where AI is useful when the entire workflow is written down step by step, not only for AI but also in general for the company.

4: Train your Team. It’s all about the prompts. You don’t have to be polite to an AI because every word that is not directly related to your task is counterproductive for the AI outcome. And the prompt should contain as much information as possible.

5: Build a Strategy. After you have identified working points, companies should set a budget and select a few tools for testing. And most importantly, it’s okay to fail on AI topics.
