Christian Winter holds a master’s degree in engineering from media technology and works as the Product Owner for radio apps at the Volkswagen Group company CARIAD. Before joining the newly built software company CARIAD, he worked with the radio team at AUDI AG, where he was responsible for bringing more than one million hybrid radio-capable cars to the market.
His work on hybrid radio projects began in 2010 with the evaluation of open standards for hybrid radio, as defined by RadioDNS.org, at the German Institute for Broadcast Technology.
In 2012, he joined the car manufacturer AUDI AG during pre-development to create a hybrid radio prototype for car infotainment systems. He led the project and architecture for hybrid radio, and in 2017, AUDI released the Audi A8, the world’s first car with hybrid radio—the ability to seamlessly link between broadcast radio and online streaming.
In 2018, Christian Winter was elected as a steering board member for the hybrid radio standardization organization RadioDNS
