Steve is Director of Audio Business & On Demand at DPG Media’s sales house. DPG Media is the biggest Belgian/Dutch multimedia house with leading tv/video-stations, newspapers, magazines, webservices & radio/audio. Starting out in the 80’s as a DJ on pirate radio stations in Belgium he turned to ‘The Dark Force’ (sales) early nineties selling private radio stations to national advertisers, being in a central role for all non-spot advertising. At the end of the nineties he ended the Flemish public radio monopoly on ‘national radio’ by filing a complaint against the Flemish Government with DG13 at the European Commission. It opened up the Flemish Market for 3 new national radio stations – nowadays he is working for all 3 of them. After a 3 year period as Director of Communications and finishing an executive MBA at Flanders Businesschool at the turn of the century, he became Radio Director at RTL’s saleshouse ‘IP’, representing Belgium’s leading private radio stations like Radio Contact, Radio Nostalgie and Bel RTL. In 2018 he joined DPG Media Belgium to further develop its commercial radio and audio business. Steve is a member of the management team leading operations on Qmusic, Joe and the recently added Willy rock station. He also started up a central podcast-department for the company – with a focus on the printing business. At DPG Media – that acquired RTL Belgium together with publishing Group Rossel, he now leads the audio business for all the radio stations he represented in his career. His in depth passion for the medium makes him very rooted with branches shooting out in all digital directions. Steve has a strong belief in radio’s power of companionship, musical expertise and its power to surprise, entertain & deliver results for advertisers.
