After several years in journalism, surviving on meatloaf & beer, Philip switched to advertising in the late ’80’s as junior copywriter.
He warmed up at DMB&B, moved on to Grey and Moors Bloomsbury, where he won his first awards: Creative Newspaper and Gold & Silver CCB awards. Followed by more CCB Awards, Effie Awards, ADCE & Cannes lions as a Senior Copywriter for VVL/BBDO and as Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi.
Then he turned to his one true passion: radio. He followed radio courses in L.A and London. Back in Belgium he set up The Radio Workshops and wrote “Can somebody turn up the radio, please?”, on how to get the most out of radio advertising, published in Belgium, Holland, Ukraine, Germany and Croatia.
He gave radio workshops at the Cannes International Advertising Festival, the German Radio Days and seminars in Stockholm, Casablanca, Copenhagen, Budapest, Bucharest and Brussels. And he was jury Member at Cannes Radio Lions and London’s D&AD.
He’s also godfather of the freelance collective TheMaffia.be and writer of audio plays for children.
