The answer is simple, Sebastian Fitzek top selling German crime novelist start his career in radio.
Sebastian Fitzek has sold 12 million novels worldwide, 5 million in Germany alone and is one of their top authors. However his career has taken as many twists as the thrillers he writes. Born in Berlin in 1971 he was headed for a career in law after taking a degree in this profession. On completion of his studies he decided that the wig and gown wasn’t for him and headed for a career in the more creative environment of media.
Like many radio people he started as a trainee at a commercial station in Germany and then moved to a competitor where he became Head of Entertainment and later Chief Editor. He later went on to become an independent executie consultant and format developer. Today he works as a programme manager for a major station in Berlin.
He came to writing late on and got the inspiration for his first novel ‘Therapy’ whilst waiting for hours in a doctors surgery. His success as a thriller writer has gained traction with his most recent novel The Night Walker, another thriller, published in paper back in July 2016.
