Giedrius Masalskis, Head of Radio for LRT joins us at RDE24

Giedrius Masalskis is the Head of the Radio Department of the Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) and a member of the EBU Radio Committee 2021–2025.

Giedrius Masalskis has more than 20 years of media and entertainment business experience, working for nearly a decade in Lithuanian national commercial radio stations and a decade on national and regional commercial television channels, as well as on the main channel of the Lithuanian Public Broadcaster LRT, from being a radio announcer to becoming the producer and host of popular TV and radio programmes.
Masalskis also worked as the CEO and Project Manager at the advertising, marketing and television production company, which has staged over 2,000 events, including the largest national music festivals in the Baltic countries Be Together, and the Freedom Picnic.

In his current position as the Head of the LRT Radio Department, Giedrius Masalskis is responsible for overall Radio Department management, strategies, and programming.

Under Masalskis’s leadership, the LRT Radio Department implemented a complex reform, having renewed its news service, offering new programmes and formats, extending its presence and audience reach in the digital space, integrating audio content with other LRT media platforms, and contributing to LRT efforts to counter disinformation and develop public media literacy. Among the most recent innovations introduced by the LRT Radio Department are the launch of a new on demand online Audio platform LRT Radioteka and the introduction of a visual radio.
